8. Metro Brozak (0-2)

  • Week 1 MVP: Ben Rice (51)
  • Week 1 LVP: Willy Adames (-1)
  • Offseason Additions: SP Jacob Misiorowski, INF Jordan Westburg, DH Giancarlo Stanton, 1B Coby Mayo, C Ethan Salas
  • Offseason Loses: INF Kevin McGonigle, SP Brandon Sproat

Let’s start with some positives for Metro Brozak. The team added some new players for the 2026 season, including SP Jacob Misiorowski, a 24-year-old pitcher coming off an impressive rookie campaign. In addition, despite an opening week loss to Hennyville, the team hung around most of the matchup including Misiorowski having the 3rd most points for them this week. First Basemen Ben Rice, the new starter after trading 1B Freddie Freeman at the deadline last year, led the team in points this week with 51.

The negatives; this team is coming off a HISTORIC bad season with only 1 win, a feature that I don’t think will ever be replicated in this league again. Metro Brozak actually outscored Thunder Bay in Week 1, but after the season last year it’s hard to put this team any higher to start off the year. However, it seems like GM Kozak is dedicating more time to investing into adding rather than selling, and the team definitely has the prospects & draft capital to turn it around.

Week 2 Matchup: Away vs. Cole-Blooded (2-0)

7. Thunder Bay Titz (0-2)

  • Week 1 MVP: Chase Burns (42) & Mason Miller (42)
  • Week 1 LVP: Chris Bassitt (-24)
  • Offseason Additions: OF Owen Cassie, SP Chase Dollander, SP Brandon Sproat
  • Offseason Loses: SP Jacob Misiorowski, OF Andy Pages

There’s no way to sugarcoat this, but everything that could go wrong for Thunder Bay in Week 1, went wrong. The teams 419 Points was the lowest scored to open up the season, losing to Palm Beach by just less the 200 Points. The real issue was the expected performers just had a rough opening week. Ace Paul Skenes started off the year with -16 Points, to finish with 0 total points to contribute on the week, AL Rookie of the year Nick Kurtz only had 5 Points, and OF Pete Crow hit a low .230 to not really contribute. Not to mention another IL Start to the season for SP Spencer Strider who can’t seem to stay healthy.

The Positive however, Chase Burns looks like a real star in this league. Burns gave Thunder Bay 11 Inning Pitched with only 1 Earned, leading the way with 42 Points. I don’t think there’s any debate on Mason Miller being the best Closer in baseball, as his 42 Point outscored a vast majority of all-star caliber players. The real surprise was Tomoyuki Sugano shoving in two starts in his second stint with Thunder Bay. The team moved a lot of players at the 2025 trade deadline, and it might show the direction this team could head in 2026. If the stars can figure it out however, the young core is strong enough to win this team some games.

Week 2 Matchup: Away vs. Hennyville (2-0)

6. Palm Beach Diamond Ducks (2-0)

  • Week 1 MVP: Yordan Alvarez (62)
  • Week 1 LVP: Bryan Bello (-8)
  • Offseason Additions: 1B Pete Alonso, INF Kazuma Okamoto, 1B/OF Ryan O’Hearn, 3B Matt Chapman, INF Kevin McGonigle,
  • Offseason Loses: DH Giancarlo Stanton, 1B Coby Mayo, INF Jordan Westburg, OF Jordan Lawler

Let me be the first to say this ranking is lower than it should be based off how Palm Beaches Opening Week went. After missing the playoffs in 2025, the Diamond Ducks dominated Thunder Bay to start off the year and earned two wins with an impressive 615 Points. By the offseason acquisitions, it was clear GM Pat wanted and needed to add hitters to a lineup that ranked 6th last year. The team made a blockbuster to acquire 1B Pete Alonso, who has started off slow but adds massive power to a team that needed some pop. DH Yordan Alvarez is off to an MVP type season, hitting .400 with 4 HR’s to lead the way with 62 Points.

The reason I still have this team only 6th in the power rankings is simple. On one hand, it’s hard to put them above 4 Playoffs teams from last year when not a ton changed. Additionally, and the main reason I have Palm Beach here, is they have not one, not two, BUT NINE PITCHERS CURRENTLY INJURED. It’s an injury bug the Diamond Ducks have not been able to avoid the past 2 seasons. Ace pitcher Hunter Greene won’t return till late May, Justin Steele is still working off an injury from 2025, Bryce Miller and Spencer Schwellenbach are both starting the year on the IL, and young promising pitcher Jared Jones is expected to miss a good amount of time. And to top it all off, after a week of 42 Points and only 1 earned run in 10 innings pitched, Ace Hunter Brown is now expected to be out for the next 3 Weeks with a shoulder strain. If Palm Beach stays hot and can defeat the reigning champs in week 2 they’ll move up in the rankings, but for now I have to keep them lower.

Week 2 Matchup: Away Vs. Bryce Krispy Treats (0-2)

5. Nip City Vultures (1-1)

  • Week 1 MVP: Max Fried (66)
  • Week 1 LVP: Carlos Estevez (-25)
  • Offseason Additions: OF Andy Pages, 3B Munetaka Murakami
  • Offseason Loses: C Drake Baldwin, OF Ryan O’Hearn, OF Owen Cassie

It was a good & a bad week for the Vultures to start off the year, winning a matchup on the league median but losing yet another Week 1 matchup to Cole-Blooded. Max Fried was able to get 3 starts in the week leading to his 66 Points in the matchup. Shohei Ohtani did what you’d expect, and Bryce Elder surprised the DBA with two impressive starts. The real positives Nip City will take away from this was the performances from the Young OF. After struggling at the position the past couple of seasons, Chase DeLauter has an already impressive 5 Home Runs, Cam Smith is hitting .300, and Andy Pages was the best hitter in baseball to start off the year.

The clear negatives so far have been the relievers, as Griffin Jax & Carlos Estevez combined for -32 Points on the week. Cristian Javier has two horrific starts to get -21 Points, and Top Prospect C Samuel Basallo (acquired in the Austin Riley deal) is yet to pick it up in 2026. Not to mention DH Brent Rooker struck out in 12 of his 24 at Bats. With Ohtani & Skubal it’s hard to put this team low, but they’ll need to figure out their problems sooner then later.

Week 2 Matchup: Away Vs. Better Call Paul (1-1)

4. Bryce Krispy Treats (0-2)

  • Week 1 MVP: Trevor Rogers (40)
  • Week 1 LVP: Justin Verlander (-9)
  • Offseason Additions: None
  • Offseason Loses: None

After winning the DBA Championship in 2025, starting 0-2 was not the plan to begin the champs 2026 season. Outside of two good Trevor Rogers starts, there was just no heavy hitters in Week 1 for the Krispy Treats. Seth Lugo, Garrett Crochet & Kodai Senga all pitched well, but outside of 34-year-old Mike Trout, there was no real offensive production from a team with a top half of the league lineup.

The lineup is not something to worry about despite the slow start, especially with Top Prospect Sal Stewart making his mark with a .351 BA & 2 HRs to start. The OF is still arguably the best in the league, and the RP Duo of Edwin Diaz & Andres Munoz is already off to a hot start. The one major downside was the NL Rookie of the year runner up Cade Horton is now out for the season with a Right UCL injury. The defending champs are still very much a team to fear in 2026, but a win over 2-0 Palm Beach would make that case even stronger.

Week 2 Matchup: Home VS. Palm Beach (2-0)

3. Better Call Paul (1-1)

  • Week 1 MVP: Kevin Gausman (57)
  • Week 1 LVP: Nathan Eovaldi (-10)
  • Offseason Additions: None
  • Offseason Loses: None

In the past 3 season, Better Call Paul has made the playoffs 3/3 times, taken 2nd & 3rd twice, all while having one of the better and consistent rosters in the league. While the team won their head-to-head matchup in a redemption win over the Bryce Krispy Treats after losing to them in the playoffs last year, the 589 points wasn’t enough to get this team to the 2-0 start. 4 Pitchers, including a dominate week from Kevin Gausman, were able to reach 40+ points in the win, while free agent signing Christian Walker was able to hit his way to the 40 Point mark as well. In addition, unlike in 2025, the team has All-Star OF Ronald Acuna Jr. back to start the year, despite a slow hitting start.

The only real negatives were two bad starts from Pitchers Nathan Eovaldi & new Red Sox Ranger Suarez, and SS Mookie Betts back on the IL with an oblique injury. If history repeats itself, any given week this team will dominate in scoring, and they’re in for a good matchup against another 1-1 team in Nip City. Will this be the year Better Call Paul gets over the hump and brings a championship to the desert?

Week 2 Matchup: Home VS. Nip City (1-1)

2. Hennyville Hashbrowns (2-0)

  • Week 1 MVP: Sandy Alcantara (72)
  • Week 1 LVP: Kyle Manzardo (-4)
  • Offseason Additions: SP Tatsuya Imai, RP Devin Williams, OF Jordan Lawler
  • Offseason Loses: 1B Pete Alonso, 3B Matt Chapman, OF Evan Carter, SP Chase Dollander

One of the biggest shocks of the 2025 season was Hennyville missing the playoffs in 2025 with the roster they have. However, after an early scare in the week, the Weenies look to be right back to the game they want to be playing with a 650 Point performance in a win over Metro Brozak. The win was massively contributed to the dominance of Sandy Alcantara, who scored 72 Points, the 5th most in a single week in DBA History, that included a complete game shutout with only 3 hits. After being expected to miss some games to start the year, OF Corbin Carroll was not only able to play opening day but was the team’s leading hitter with 42 Points. In addition, #1 Prospect Konnor Griffin has officially been added to the roster, who will join SS Bobby Witt Jr in the best SS room in the league.

The only downsides so far are a few injuries, that includes All Star OF Juan Soto joining the IL15, and breakout candidate Jordan Lawler who is now on the IL60 and will miss most of the season. Other than that, Hennyville can’t seem to fix the RP2 Spot after a struggling week from Emilo Pagan. On paper, this is the team to beat, but will the problems that emerged in 2025 repeat themselves in 2026, or will this team be the championship level contenders they should be.

Week 2 Matchup: Home VS. Thunder Bay (0-2)

1. Cole-Blooded (2-0)

  • Week 1 MVP: Cam Schlittler (56)
  • Week 1 LVP: Cal Raleigh (0)
  • Offseason Additions: C Drake Baldwin, OF Evan Carter
  • Offseason Loses: RP Devin Williams

After one of the strongest Opening Weeks in DBA History, Cole-Blooded has without a doubt set themselves up to be the team to beat in 2026. With an impressive 697 points in Week 1 win over Nip City, Cole-Blooded is now 2-0 to start the season in back-to-back years. Outside of Cam Schlittlers impressive two starts with 56 Points, no one really dominated, the whole roster just had themselves a solid week, which is even scarier than just one player dominating himself. Cole-Blooded was also the only team who didn’t have a player finish with negative points in Week 1. Christian Yelich and Freddie Freeman led the way for hitters, and Framber Valdez & Clay Holmes each had themselves top pitching performances.

The only real struggle came from AL MVP Runner Up Cal Raleigh, whose .118 BA led him to score 0 Points on the week. Josh Hader beginning the season on the IL is rough start to the bullpen (despite David Bednar’s impressive week). The team is also patiently waiting for the return of ace Gerritt Cole, whose live batting practice starts is a strong belief the pitcher could be back sooner than later. If Week 1 is any indication of how the season will go, look out for Cole-Blooded as we get deeper into the season.

Week 2 Matchup: Home VS. Metro Brozak (0-2)
